OK guys the date is set.
Saturday, August 1st. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. Details will be forthcoming.
Sandtroopers, Jawas, Sandpeople, Uncle Owen Aunt Beru, Old Ben Kenobi, this should be a great photo op!
Okay here are the details:
10:30 am - meet up at the parking lot by the convention center and suit up.
11:00 to 3 pm - Troop the beach and the strip.
3:00 pm - Lunch at Rob's Mom's place (Bring your own food to BBQ)
Then to Ft Stevens for more pictures around the battery. (Around the Wreck of the Peter Iredale too?)
Remember to bring some $ for the parking at the Battery. (there are stairs - we may need to remove certain armor pieces to traverse.)
We will need Spotters and Photographer/Videographers.

I'm out at seaside pretty often on weekends, so if you need a spotter let me know. I'd love to be able to participate while still getting my costume together.

ok guys my mom has invited all of us over after the troop to hangout and have a potluck.So we can all gather there and see who will continue on to the fort for some pics there!We will be there friday night.

The fort is going to be extremely cool for pics! Even near the wreck on the beach if we want.

I'd like to join but will my TK be acceptable since it's a clean version? I do have an orange pauldron.
If not, I would be happy to be a spotter and/or photographer.

$100 fee for anybody showing up in costume + lots of paperwork. Possible refundable, but too close to make it happen.

I suspect that the fee for Fort Stevens would have covered Batteries Russell and Pratt, correct? Of course, I wouldn't know about the Washington side with Fort Columbia.

Nick and I have to leave about 2:00 pm :( as I am heading back east for a week Sunday a.m. (6:00 am flight out of PDX) and have to get ready.
But I am sure I'll be able to get some good pics!! :mrgreen:

This was a great troop, and my inaugural troop as an official member! What a great day. Perfect trooping weather, and LOTS of people! All the kids were in absolute awe and they had a great time posing with us and asking all sorts of questions about why we were at the beach. :)
I'm going through Phil's gallery now and besides the awesome pic with my Mom, this one is my favorite:
