Title: Flooded........
Post by: Ilovesanddirt on January 09, 2009, 02:45:07 PM: Life is kicking my arse again! We flooded on January 1st/2nd. The water was up to my knee at the end of my driveway(which is fifteen feet from my house). They said this has never happened in this area. Well they can't say that anymore. I sandbagged for two days and I can barely stand up for work. Water didn't get into the house but it got into my garage. I am gonna have to throw away a ton stuff! Crap! This is after us loosing power, because of 12+" of snow, from Dec. 21st through Xmas Eve! And the 23rd was my birthday. Worst birthday ever! Plus when you have a girlfriend who became stuck at home because of the snow and had the worse cabin fever imaginable and missed her family immensely because of the holidays. And you don't have flood insurance because we don't live on a flood plane and because it has NEVER flooded here! Because I don't have the money to shell out for a whole new duct system under my house because of the water that flooded my crawl space under my house! DAMMIT!

My buddy and I pulled most of my ducts out of my crawl space. It was crazy under their. They are all shot. The first estimate was around $6000 dollars to fix them all. That is why we pulled them out. Don't have to pay anyone to gut it now. Just have to find someone who will put new one's back in. I hate the rain!

I heard the Same from Rick H. in Boring; He had a Flood issue. I hope Eric is alright. He is in your neck of woods as well. We hope all goes smooth for the clean up.

That room did better then the rest, we pumped out about 1000 gallons of water. Sorry Rob, times like this really suck but we have to keep our heads held high. Let me know if you need any help.

I'm very sorry (and sad) about this news. It's one thing to see this on TV and another to know someone who has been affected.

We haven't had any heat from my furnace since New Years. Thank God for electricity and space heaters.
