Once again, sorry these took awhile but they are here now!
Mission: Trail Blazer Street Jam for Special Olympics
Location: Rose Quarter (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=21945+NW+Wagon+Way,+Hillsboro,+OR+), same awning as last year
Date: July 19th
Time: Meet up 10:00-10:30 am,---Start Trooping by 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, July 19th SATURDAY
Special Olympics is having the Street Jam again this year. Last years was a huge success, but I have no idea how long they have been doing this. We have been asked to bring the background. Since that is not mine or ours to lay claim to I will put this out as a formal request to have the backdrop for pictures.
If we get the backdrop I would like to run photos in this fashion: Photos taken by people who are there with their cameras are encouraged to make a $2 donation that will go to Special Olympics. If we take a picture, the same $2 request is to be honored and we can give them one of our business cards and they can do to our gallery and download the picture of them and print it at home (or whatever it is they want to do with it). Again, all the donations would go to Special Olympics.
We will have tables there for stuff. As well I would like to put on the games again as I did at WTC for Robin. It would be great to run in teams again, and I will supply as many helmets as I can for kids.
Fliers and more business cards are needed please. I need someone to handle that aspect please.

This is on a Saturday..... are there no other troopers out there that will do this event? Come on people, roster up. This is what we do, right here. We entertain and by doing so we get our name out. This is a high profile event - lots of people will be here. Come on troopers.... if Martin can come all the way up from Southern Oregon, certainly more local folks can attend!

I agree.. Come on Cloud City Roster up and have a Blast at this great Event. Lets get our numbers out there. The 19th is on Saturday. Please adjust your schedules and talk to family to make a day of it .

This event for me holds a special meaning. This event marks the one year anniversary of cooter's
discovery of the 501st and trooping. I spotted for this event, my first time. My next few events
Paul (pepito) was decent enough to let me wear his TK. After that I was hooked. I'd like to spread
some good Karma by letting a New Person (spotter or whatever) debut my Clone Commander Vill
at this event. I will spot for you. I have been busting my rear to get this finshed, and am 75% (give or take)
sure it will be done by then. So the first "noob" to pm me your name, phone number, address,
social security number, work phone number, and bank acct number (j/k name and phone number
will do) will get to wear my Clone. Keep in mind there are a few things that have to happen for you to
be able to wear it. One I have to receive my Kama before then. Martin said he will mail it out friday.
Of course it has to be built, which I am gonna paint like mad this Saturday to have it done.
Keep in mind I am 6'2" and weight about 225lbs. It will fit someone smaller, for sure, but not much heavier
as the thighs are fairly tight. Send me your pms, and sign me up to spot.....

I am going to take a stab at this and say yes, we will have to pay for parking. So my advice (if this is possible) is to carpool.
As far as meeting up for a place to change and what not.... Nick???

If the meeting place is the same as last year, assuming it is, the meeting place is in the bottom floor of the memorial coliseum. To the right, and left, of the coliseum entrace is a stair well going down. Go downstairs, go to the help desk and ask for the staging area for the star wars people.
I am going to take a stab at this and say yes, we will have to pay for parking. So my advice (if this is possible) is to carpool.
If you don't want to pay for parking, park at the Lloyd Center movie theater lot, or the mall, and ride the max down to the Rose Quarter. Its in
the free zone so you don't have to pay. This is what I did last year.

The max idea is great for those who are just spotting. It may an issue for those costumers who have big bins to lug around. Just a thought!

As long as it has wheels there are no problems. Paul brought his on the Max last year. No worries.

No problem so long as the Max isn't packed, it's not a bad idea, but if it was really full, you'd have a difficult time with a bin. Trust me, I'm no stranger to Portland's Mass Transit system...

With regret I must have my name taken off the roster. Work called and they want me to work on the 17th. I may be able to catch the last half hour, and other things. If this assignment is permanant I will be able to better plan my weekend.

Wow it isn't everyday that you get to troop with rockstars, get your photo taken with basketball stars, and
promote the empire and McDonalds at the same time. There must have been 10,000 plus people
at this event. I had a blast. Glad to have met some new troops, and a special thanks to Phil and Vicki, for bringing
munchies and drinks, to Rick, for bringing the backdrop, and to everybody else who made this event fun.

Excellent troop everyone. A special thanks goes out to the two newbies who came and trooped with us, James and Stephanie. You guys looked great! We were honored that you joined us...... yeah, I said it. It's our motto, isn't it? :P
Thanks Rick, from coming out to join us and bringing the backdrop. I hope you know just much we appreciate your doing this - bringing Chewie and the backdrop. Besides, where else would you have seen Kevin kick my donkey with that big pugle stick, huh?
This was a great event, and I want to thank everyone who made it possible!

It was awesome to have a Twi'lek grace our event. You did an excellent job with that costume of yours. And if I may say, that gun belt and holster looks awesome. That is some mighty fine craftsmanship! :mrgreen:
