Title: Snowboarding?
Post by: grumpydevil on January 04, 2008, 09:37:11 AM
So I was curious to find out if anyone around here snowboards or skis on a regular basis. I am just getting into snowboarding now (sure, ten years later than I should have, but who's counting).

Anyway, if any of our regulars are into going to the mountain some time this season, I'd love to plan a day trip for one weekend.

I snow skied when I was a teenager. I have done any snow skiing since I was 15, I think.

I LOVE TO BOARD!!  My prized possession is a limited and number RIDE board that has a Boba Fett graphic on the top and bottom decks.  The day the board cannot be ridden is the day it goes on the wall as a mantle piece.  These were an unlicensed graphic and only a few were made.  I ordered it and paid for it three months before I had it in hand.  The helmet I got has the Boba skull on it.  I wanted a green helmet but I couldn't find one I liked so I went with the chrome!

Muwahahaha - smells like a garrison trip in the future.

Martin, that board is killer. I don't have one yet, but Revolution lets you design your own. So I came up with this:

Who knows, maybe some day I'll have my own custom board.

Now we know why the dark father sent General Veers off ahead to deal with the pesky Rebels on Hoth!

What is Revolution?

The price quote (just by using the website) was $425. I'd say a fair price for a custom board, but I won't be getting that any time soon. Not when I can get an employee discount from Atomic and Salomon.

Revolution is this company...

Not sure what the quality of their boards are though.

I used to go snowboarding all the time, now its maybe 1-2 a year and only when I'm on vacation.  It just really tears up my knees and back, to the point I need a few days to recover.  But its sure is fun doing the damage.

I have a board, but due to injuries occurred on last trip, no longer have the desire :( Maybe one last romp in the snow when Veers is completed.

I'd like to tackle boarding again, I still have my board and whatnot but I am much better on skis (and if the day is icy I may even break out the skiboards RAH!) I injured my shoulder boarding and it's taken me awhile to get the guts up to try again but I do think it would be fun. (Been skiing since I was toddling though... so that's my first choice!)
We should totally get a group together... I've never been to Hood... my stomping ground was Bachelor growing up and Ashland in high school!

hoods nice, but we have to choose between three different resorts :P.
I skied for a long time as well, then switched to boarding. I'm not very extreme out there, so boarding i found more entertaining :P
