WHAT: CASA's Annual Superhero Run
WHERE: Salem Riverfront Park 230 Front St SE, Salem, OR 97301 in Salem
DATE: Sunday, June 2nd
TIME:
plan on being suited up for the Athlete check-in which begins at 10 am. Film crew shows up at 10 am, too! Statesman-Journal photographer is also scheduled to attend, we don’t what time that will be. lets greet the guests as they arrive. Expect kids and families, plus some athletes. Would like to have volunteers until conclusion of the event to pose for photos as people complete their 1-mile, 5k , or 10k race.
CAUSE:
CASA of Marion County
We are a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to advocating for children in foster care
PARKING:
Salem Riverfront Park has two parkings lots. If full, there is free two-hour or three-hour parking within a couple blocks of the park. A few blocks away is free parkade. You can drop off your volunteers in full regalia at Riverfront Park and then park your vehicle at the parkade.
CHANGING AND STORAGE:
Salem Riverfront Park has a few private bathrooms, not much else. No good place to store things.
COSTUME REQUESTS: No revealing or overly scary costumes; about half of the attendees are children.
BLASTER POLICY: Blaster and lightsabers are fine.
MEMBERS' CHILDREN IN COSTUME: Yes, children in costume are welcome to attend
OTHER DETAILS:
Superhero-themed walk/run family-friendly event at Salem Riverfront Park. About half the attendees are children. Many walk or run in superhero costumes and we have a Superhero Costume Contest

It looks like people will start arriving for this event at 10 for race sign ups. We should plan on a 930 arrival and be in costume from 10 - 11 or shortly after 11. that the runs start. Put me down as a TIE (OT)
