WHAT: Doernbecher May the 4th Star Wars Day
WHERE: Doernbecher Children's Hospital; 700 SW Campus Dr, Portland, OR 97239 in Portland
DATE: Thursday, May 4th
TIME: In Costume: Visiting hospital units at 10AM; Video bingo event at noon; closing ceremony at 1:30 - come in time to be in costume at 10am and stay as long as you are able.

- This is the FIRST time we are allowing visitors onto the oncology unit - we have not even allowed siblings, yet, so this is a pretty big deal. We will only allow 4-5 people, and we need to make sure everyone is able to either wash their hands or sanitize gloves (for those wearing gloves)?
- 10am we will be divided into smaller groups for individual room visits. They will go until 11:30am. 12-13:30pm Saber Guild will have a demonstration.
- PARKING UPDATE from the host: With the number of people coming (which is awesome, BTW), we have arranged for additional parking in the main hospital garage: Garage F and the guest code for the day is 8358RLDM. Map and instructions are below. I would suggest telling those that have the most equipment to use Lot 20 and all others use Garage F. For those going to Garage F, they will need to go from there to the front lobby of Doernbecher where someone will be waiting to guide you the rest of the way.
- PARKING Lot 20 Info: you want to park in the clearly marked reserved spots. They could only get us 10 spots, they will be getting more information to us where the next best place to park is if those spots are full.
- From the host: We will arrange for someone to meet and guide you to the changing/storage area when people arrive. Please make sure to come to the rear entrance of Doernbecher hospital. It is in between where the pediatric ambulances park and the outdoor play area for the pediatric oncology clinic. The lot name is “Parking Lot 20”on SW US Veterans Hospital Rd, which is labeled on Google Maps and has pictures of what it looks like. There is a map below.
CAUSE: Doernbecher Children's Hospital
PARKING: We will make parking available for Garrison members at a lot close to the rear hospital entrance.
CHANGING AND STORAGE: We use a lockable conference room in an adjacent building for members to get dressed and store items. This room is right across the hallway from restrooms.
COSTUME REQUESTS: Mixture of characters would be perfect
PHOTOGRAPHY PERMITTED: Yes, but there are patient privacy issues that will need to be addressed
BLASTER POLICY: Please no blasters, but lightsabers are welcomed
MEMBERS' CHILDREN IN COSTUME: No, please keep signups limited to adult members of Cloud City Garrison and Kashyyyk Base
ROSTER CAP: 15
OTHER DETAILS: Doernbecher has been having a May the 4th celebration each year for our patients and staff members for a few years, now, and we are planning the upcoming celebration. We have always had members from the Cloud City Garrison and Kashyyyk Base join us and we would be honored if they would join us again.
ANYTHING ELSE:
Thank you for the many times you have brightened the lives of our patients and staff! The event last year was the first event we had allowed since the beginning of the pandemic, and it was a HUGE success. May the Force be with you! Master Khann Raa Dii of the Doernbecher Jedi Order.

I would totally do the caravan thing... I cant do Vader at Doernbecher but I can maybe do others with you such as Columbia Sportswear and other places you are going.

I’ve submitted my vac card for Randall Children Hospital. Looks like it’s stored in a folder, just checking to see if mine is still valid or if I need to resubmit as only one name on the roster has vac card recieved by it.

I would love to join in on the caravan if possible! Or if anyone is in Vancouver and wants me to pick them up, I am happy to do so. This will be my first troop :D

Is the "main garage" garage F on the map?
It is on the second map. One of the green highlighted spots. Sort of in the middle of the map. Let me know if the quality needs to be better and I'll see about getting another image.

Great troop, nice to get back out there and see so many familiar and new faces! They said with all the groups we split into, they were able to get characters to visit everyone that wanted to participate so that was great to hear!
The roster looks correct to me.
