EVENT TYPE: 501/RL Formal
WHAT: Grants Pass Active Club Boatnik Parade
WHERE: 6th Street from C Street to Caveman Bridge in Grants Pass, Oregon
DATE: Saturday, May 28th
TIME: 8:00 AM is the time the Judges judge float entries
CAUSE:
All funds raised are returned to the community by supporting local children and youth programs
We are ATRMC Hospital Auxiliary volunteers. Average age of Auxiliary member is 75 years.
PARKING:
Free parking but gets tough finding parking after 8am. 6th Street is closed off at about 9:45 before parade begins
CHANGING AND STORAGE: 29 foot RV
COSTUME REQUESTS: No restrictions but is a family event
BLASTER POLICY: Blasters and lightsabers are fine.
MEMBERS' CHILDREN IN COSTUME: Yes, children in costume are welcome to attend
OTHER DETAILS:
3rd largest event in Oregon. The 5-day fundraiser event benefits the community by supporting local children and youth programs.This yer's theme is "To those that protect and srve our children." Our hospital's Auxiliary parade entry is Star Wars. The Auxiliary built a 14' aluminum AT AT walker wih moving head. We have a life sized remote controlled R2D2. Linda Lamoreau who requested 501 prescence before Covid, is a die-hard Star Wars fan.
ANYTHING ELSE:
The parade is attended by 15,000 people. All funds from the 5-day charity event are returned to the community to support local children and youth programs.
