Title: MISSION COMPLETE 05.01.22: May the 1st in honor of David Wickham

EVENT TYPE: 501/RL Formal
WHAT: May the 1st StarWars Celebration in honor of David Wickham
WHERE: Luuwit Park Pavilion: 3546 NE 127th Ave Portland, OR  97230
DATE: Sunday, May 1st
TIME: Event: 12-4pm/In Costume: 1:30pm - For as long as you are available
CAUSE: $100 to the Dougy Center for grieving children and families
PARKING: The park has plenty of public parking on the pavilion sidewalk
CHANGING AND STORAGE: Car Change - This is an open air pavilion.
COSTUME REQUESTS: Boba Fett would be amazing.  Mandalorian, Jedi.  A combo of both would be awesome, as well as anyone else that is available
BLASTER POLICY: Blasters and lightsabers are fine.
MEMBERS' CHILDREN IN COSTUME: Yes, children in costume are welcome to attend
DETAILS: On Feb 16, 2022 my two boys ages 7 and 9 lost their father (David Wickham) in an unexpected motorcycle accident 5 minutes from our house. He was a dedicated Star Wars fan and loved sharing Star Wars with our two boys who have been learning all things Star Wars since they were in the womb. David’s favorite day was May the 4th because it was Star Wars day but also because it was his birthday. I would like May to be celebratory and having Star Wars Oregon there would be a game changer. Please consider us. Everyone in attendance is grieving the loss of David. Adults and kids. This would bring everyone joy—something my husband always shared with others.
OTHER DETAILS: We will be celebrating at the Luuwit Park Pavilion from 12-4. We have a reservation and catered lunch you are welcome to. Please join us.
