Title: R1 Shoretrooper squad leader WIP

I started sourcing parts about 6-7 weeks ago and stuff has been trickling in. There is a closed and semi-secret run that a guy put together (not a part of it) and there are a few individuals in that group that got the specs from the costume dept for certain pieces. I was able to snag the pants, gloves, and kama, but the shirt run was already closed so I'll have to wait until then next run to order, which will probably be after the movie comes out. In the mean time, I got a shirt from Jim Tripon, which is very nice, but we don't know just how accurate it is. The boots are Orca Bay "brecon Chelsea", and are what they used in the film.

I'm going with the BFG from 850 Armor Works out of Florida, which should be here in a week or two.

The lid and armor are from Jim Tripon. I just got my lid on Friday and the armor should be here in a few days.

With any luck, I'll get this done for the premier. I'll be out of the game for 10 days while we're on vacation so it's going to be a close one!

BBB day! I just put a couple of coats of plastidip on the inside to mitigate fiberglass pokes. This armor is AWESOME! Fiberglass with flexible resin and it has plenty of give. It's going to be comfy compaired to ABS. Thanks! I'm going to give it all a soapy bath tonight. Should be able to prime it tomorrow, then start painting this weekend.

More progress... getting things glued together and started pulling up the silicone on the lid. Hindsight is 20/20.. probably should have used latex because the silicone is pretty sticky! Sooo jealous! Going to have to build the rank and file Trooper so we can get a fire team going! I've got almost all of the 3D files from Sean Fields. Just waiting on the forearm files.

All the stinky parts are finished and clear coated everything today. They are going to be interesting to weather up. They completely look different in person. I beat the hell out of them with a wire brush and they ended up about 2 shades lighter.

I started weathering yesterday and am integrating some sand I brought back from Maui a few days ago. It sticks really well with clear coat. This wasn't printed. I bought the armor from a guy in the Philippines. Please read the original post for details.
