Hello everyone. My name is Matt. I live in Corvallis, and I have been wanting to get involved in the 501st for a while. I was at RCCC Friday and was introduced to the Cloud City Garrison. I have no idea where to get started, how to join Cloud City and get started on my costume. Eventually join the 501st.
As I mentioned, I have no idea where to start and I will need help building my costume. I am interested in building the Imperial Death Trooper Version one or two. Can someone point me to a where I can purchase a kit and I hope there are some build parties and meet and greets coming up. I'm 53 and think it's time to get started with this while I'm still able.
I look forward to meeting everyone, attending meet and greets, and hopefully a build party as I have little clue where to go from here.
I look forward to meeting everyone,
Matt

Hey Matt, welcome!
This forum is a great place to start! I am not familiar with any suppliers of the DT armor, but I know that we have several DTs in our unit, so hopefully they can chime in.
Here are a couple of links that are great sources of info:
Death Trooper CRL(Costume Reference Library):

Welcome, glad to see you could join us. As I am not familiar with that build, I will let others chime in but just wanted to say hello.

Hello there! I helped with sourcing parts for my dad's Deathtrooper, so feel free to reach out with any questions.
There are at least two different armor makers that I know of, each with their own pros and cons. 3D printing is also an option too.
850 Armorworks: https://850armorworks.com/Death-Troopers-c36176020
Jim Tripon: https://www.facebook.com/jim.tripon (Jim is just on social media, no website that I know of)
Soft goods might be trickier, but I believe Jim is still doing most of them. Sheev's Emporium is also making them, he's done a few soft parts items for me and is awesome. He is a one man show so there may be a wait for your items.

Boots/Gloves you could get from KeepTrooping at https://keeptrooping.com/
The build threads on the SpecOps forums that Chris linked are great to look at and see what others are doing and may have more current info too.
