My name is Rick and I'm located in the Rogue Valley area of Southern Oregon, Eagle Point to be exact and I'm looking to build a Stormtrooper for my first setup and looking to also build Jango Fett at a later time.
I'm also a professional photographer and actually working on a Star Wars Cosplay Pinup calendar for 2016, so I've already been building several accurate props for the shoots.
I am really looking forward to meeting everyone I can and look forward to many years of being a part of an awesome group of people!

hello there and welcome

Wylde,
Welcome from the North Tower; Portland. As a recommendation you should go to FSD (http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/) (<= Link) (First Imperial Stormtrooper Detachment) and then check out their CRL (http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:FISD_CRL) (Costume Reference Library) requirements.

Thank you Vader!
Thank you for the links Hoot, I appreciate it and I'll check them out ASAP!

Welcome to the dark side! It's good to know we're going to have another TK in our ranks!
Look forward to meeting you!
Janet

Thank you Janet! I heard the dark side had cookies, so here I am!
I look forward to meeting you as well!

I haven't seen any cookies yet, but I'm pretty new to the dark side. I'm on the light side too, so I guess I just hang out at dusk!

Greetings!

Welcome aboard! There are a lot of good resources on this forum for getting started, and a lot of good people to answer questions! One of our recent members documented his Stormtrooper build really well here:

But another good place to start (if you haven't already) is the Stromtrooper detachment:

Thank you Blue Leader!
Thank you Stevo, I've been looking at all the links and getting really great information! I appreciate it very much!
-
Welcome! We can never have too many TKs, and a Jango is always welcome too. Looking forward to see your build! When it comes time to finding a blaster for your TK you have a local option here if you want to avoid shipping expenses :)
-
Sweet! Thank you Luananeko! PM Sent! :D
-
Ummmm, are you sure you sent it? I have no unread PMs o.o
-
Apparently, I had sent you an email the first time, so I just sent you a PM.....I hope! lol

Welcome to the forums Rick!
I'm at the tail-end of building my TK currently. The FISD has been an invaluable resource for build advice for me and others here.
Please don't hesitate to contact myself, anyone here on the forums, or members of the FISD for advice and assistance. Welcome aboard!
-
Thank you Maxsteele! I really appreciate it!
I've been reading a lot on the FISD site and it's definitely an awesome resource for TK building!
I'm sure once I dive into building my TK (Very soon), I'm sure I'll be asking all sorts of questions! lol
-
Welcome, Rick! You've taken your first step into a larger world.. Please do feel free to ask questions!
-
Thank you Jason! I'm really looking forward to getting started soon and hopefully being a part of such an awesome group of people!

I just want to thank everyone for the links and encouragement!
I've been busy reading everything and although it can be overwhelming, I believe I have it narrowed down to 2 choices. I'm working on deciding between T/MC and RT-Mod since I'm 5' 11" and 200lbs.
I can understand how this can be addictive!
-
Bacon...the maple kind, yeah?
-
The awesome thing about the choices is that you do not have to limit your costume to one. I have three that I use... I admit it... I play both sides of the force! Just start with one, and when that is done, you'll be so addicted you'll want to start on the second one!
-
That Katze said.. I started out wanting to do the Tie Fighter pilot route, reserve pilot was my gateway into the %01st, then with a few choice additions, reserve pilot can be Imperial Bridge crewman, and some of those accessories tie right into Death Star Imperial gunner.. I just do Dark side right now. I can even eventually get my helmet chestbox and armor someday and then I'll have 4... and I just got started in February. Oh, and soft flight suit = no armor bites, and I can sit down!
-
That's awesome! I'm sure I'll end up with quite a few since I have my sights on several ideas after the TK build. I'll probably stick with mainly the dark side, unless I find something cool on the light side to do.

There's a "cool" light side? Preposterous!!
-
Yea, I was trying to be nice.....I prefer the dark side! lol

Welcome. I'm on the good side. From what I heard the cookies are burnt
