Welcome Beth, glad to have you here! I'm jealous of your Starcruiser trip and the soon-to-be trip back to WDW! If you could please bring back the entire Galaxy's Edge, that would be great!

I accidentally left my pauldron in the changing space when I left Saturday. 3d printed. Painted Hammered iron with yellow stripes. Silver antenna magneted to the front.

One of the mercs picked it up. I can grab it for you.
Could someone please grab it and keep it safe? If you're based in the eugene area, we can meet up.

Or I can reclaim it at the ems game or rccc.
Jim had it and I saw it lying there. I am sure someone has it. Maybe one of the Mercs have it?

Great to see you here, trooper! Looking forward to meeting you in person and seeing what other costumes to eventually make. It's truly an addiction, so you've found the right place!

Exciting!! Best of luck. Definitely register on the FISD forums if you haven't yet: https://www.whitearmor.net
There is a wealth of info on there and if you start a build thread people will be super helpful whenever you have questions (as long as you are polite etc :D).

As far as tools definitely get yourself one of these: https://www.amazon.com/Kuhn-Rikon-Classic-Snips-8-Inch/dp/B00D096UK2
You might want to get some curved Lexan scissors like these too: https://www.amazon.com/HURON-Precision-LEXAN-Scissors-Curved/dp/B09RQDG9XM
You'll also need some strong rare earth magnets and some plastic clamps to hold bits together while the e6000 glues is drying. I'd say about 6 clamps and 12 or so 3/4"-1" magnets, and another 12 or so 1/4" magnets.

I ordered a kit from RS Propmasters and it was pretty raw when it arrived, which was daunting at first, but I started with the arms and legs, and with help from the forums and RS' Youtube channel it gets easier and easier as you go along.

I HIGHLY suggest RS's Youtube channel no matter what armormaker's stuff you are working with as there are some great tips and info about how the originals came together on there, as long as you don't mind a little crude humor from time to time: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLylZBXOeIZgnM256-WdjM5oMLygc-_4pZ&feature=shared

A question for anyone and everyone, how long did it take you to finish your first build? How “finished” did you order your pieces? What tools did you use? I’m planning on using my Dremel and sandpaper, and glue for the lenses.

Congrats and welcome to the club!!

Hello!  Beth here from Kelso, WA.  I'm  DZ-26648, Narkina Prisoner (but incredibly trustworthy and in no way likely to engage in shenanigans) and was just approved to join the Cloud City Garrison.

This is all very new to me, despite being a long time cosplayer who mainly focuses on Star Wars costumes.  I'll share more in a proper introduction post, but wanted to reply here for access to member areas.

Hi all! My name is Beth FitzGibbon, and I'm thrilled to be a part of the Cloud City Garrison having admired the work of the 501st for a long time after first seeing a troop at Star Wars Weekends back in 2009.  I never thought I would have the courage to apply, but after flying on the Galactic Starcruiser last summer, my desire to feed my Star Wars obsession exploded.

I've been cosplaying for many years, and while I've made some random costumes, I always return to Star Wars for my source of inspiration. my first (and I hope not last) approved costume is a Narkina 5 Inmate, but I'm already dreaming of what I want to do next (leaning towards Seventh Sister, albeit a very short one!)

I do have a Saja suit I've been working on since last summer, and am hoping to eventually submit to the RL for approval.

In my real world life, I'm retired from a career doing a lot of things related to gaming and entertainment in the tech industry , and now spend time taking care of my husband, who still works full-time, our three dogs and making a lot of things for my etsy shop (pretty much all Galactic Starcruiser related stuff).

I can't wait to have a chance to meet you all in person, and I'll be back in Kelso starting May 11th after a two week trip down to Disney World. I'll be in Black Spire Outpost for May the 4th and happy to pick up anything from there and smuggle it back.  Thank you to Luke and Michael for the warm welcome and hopefully see y'all soon!
Beth
