Title: Luke Killam - Din Djarin: Beskar
Post by: Lidocaine on October 21, 2021, 06:44:21 PM
Apologies for the crap lighting, apparently we prefer to live like Hobbits and by the time I get home during the week it's dark out... Thanks to anyone who's helped me along the way, shoutouts to Ian for the MandoPuter setup, Cory for the absolutely badass paint job on my pistol, my wife for helping with some sewing and anyone along the way who I've bored to tears with my progress! :P

Hi Jeremy! I got my armor from Branfuhr Studios, but he recently had a fire so I'm not sure if he's doing armor currently.  Redman Studio Workshop is doing fiberglass armor as well, he's on Facebook and Etsy:

Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/shop/RedmanStudioWorkshop

Let me know if you have any questions, it can be a pretty involved build!

EPIC job on this , looking to do one as well , joined up on the bounty hunters guild to get some info. Still researching the CRL's And trying to understand the different buildS but I surely  want to go with the Beskar as you did. I have been doing some research and this is what I have found, have you used any of these vendors by chance?

Flight suit : The Darkside Closet

Armor :  Redman Studios or Jon Stark Studios

Leather Goods: Obsessive Passions or Sines Industries

Still have a lot of research , but yours turned out AWESOME , I hope to replicate.

Darkside Closet is fantastic, great guy and worth the wait.
Redman is great and Stark too, I've ordered a S2 thigh piece and rifle parts from him and he's friendly and reliable.
Sines does runs of his leather parts, and I think they're great. I'm not sure if he's doing the grav charge holders though so keep that in mind.

Hit me up anytime if you have questions, I've definitely delved deep into this for my build, and I'll be the one also approving any Din stuff locally. :)

Thanks Luke, careful what you say , I might just be taking you up on that offer ..LOL

Quick question , is  there only one CRL our there for Beskar and is that the S1 I am hearing about or is there a S2 CRL? I am a bit confused on what to order for the flight suit , something to do with the stitching?

I know I want to to do the Beskar just didn't know which options are out there, are you privy to this?

Luke is clearly the authority, but from what I've read S2 means brown (not black) flight suit and not mudhorn emblem on the right pauldron.

Yup, only one CRL for Beskar. The 501st only currently has the S1 costumes approved for wear, which include the following CRLs:

Season 1, Version 1 - The "Brown" Version (See John's awesome build for an example locally):
https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:BH_DinDjarinS1V1

Season 1, Version 2 - The "Beskar" Version (The version in this post):
https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:BH_DinDjarinS1V2

There's been talking of adding a third, "heavily weathered", end of Season 1 version with the Mudhorn signet and jetpack but it hasn't materialized yet. The season 2 clean version with the new thigh and signet won't be a 501st costume, as Din doesn't do anything "nefarious" or perform any bounty hunting. The Rebel Legion should be the place for his season 2 costume, but I haven't seen any CRLs from them regarding any version of Din yet. Jeremy's right that the S2 flight suit does look to be brown, and the S1V2 calls the flight suit "brown/blue" in the 501st CRL. I'd be curious to see what the RL says! The lighting and colors can change the flight suit colors pretty dramatically, even for my costume.

Hope this helps!

Copy that… Think I will stick with the beskar season 1 ( your build) , CRL seems solid and is the one that appeal’s to me the most.

Getting in touch with the Darkside closet , they are 22 weeks out (ouch) but not alot on the boards about other makers of flightsuits and the Etsy sellers seem to be suspect at best .

Wondering if there are patterns out their to buy for the flightsuit  and do a commission build with a local seamstress?  For the armor, will continue my research , along with the leather goods. Getting things narrowed down… ideally I can start a build thread soon once I make up my mind…lol
