New sheriff in town. Casting this sculpt later this week. TK still my thing, but this should be an interesting addition when called upon. Costume done. Detailed thread on KB area. JIC you do not get there.

Well we are still about a month away on a mask. I am targeting the March events. Vacation, cast, paint, repaint, curse, repaint...etc. Still have the eyes to make as well as the inner skeleton. It's a complex build beyond the rubber mask. I bet this ends up around 60 hours when done. So that should give you some time to come up with something awesome...no cereal...please.

UFO parade maybe? it's a great event to test new costumes, not to far of a walk, low key and it's a non-formal event (which means that the costume doesn't need to be accepted yet) I'm still just completely wowed by your sculpting skills sir.

Yeah just call me Allan. I would be more than happy to help with whatever you have. Anytime.
Ye Ol' Admiral Update:
Never commission me to do a project with a timeline...never...I constantly rethink and adjust. All for the common good though.
So I have decided to lengthen the back. It has been bugging me a bit that what I want to do was restricted to the law of physics. I received some sage advise on how to do it from a pro sculptor. My restriction was the stability of the piece while i was working on it. He gave me some good tips on supporting it. So I will make some adjustments to the build. Mostly building the length out another 4 inches and getting more of a cone look to the back vs the dorsal look I have. Yes AA is a conehead. No SNL jokes or I will Jabba lick you. Not that you can find good angles to see this phenomenon, but it is true. It never ends...Still pushing for March though. This should only take another 5 hours or so. I will be in Kona next week surfing so it will be the first week of Feb when I update with the last images...maybe...

I will Jabba lick you.
That will haunt me to my grave.

For those that do not get to KB base forum.

My wife is an artist and loves sculpting. She loves what you've done so far. But my 8 year old son is dying to know, how do you see out of the mask?
-
How do you see?-
Slit in the mouth as well as the nose. All AA masks function that way.
Not great for enjoying the scenery. Kinda stuffy too.

Update:
Adding the layers of color now. Looks really orangey/red now as these are the lighter colors. You have to layer the colors from light to dark on silicone. I will be putting in the tans and browns this week. Eyes are last and I finally found a source for nice round acrylic half spheres. Should be no real issues finishing this month.
