I'm pretty sure it's false, I wanna say I've seen it before with TFA or Rogue One.... But there's a"keep portland wierd" Facebook pay going around stating that "the next star wars movie will be shot near portland, looking for extras"
I doubt it but wouldn't that be awesome!!??

I can't see any reason why they would film here. We don't have anything really that would fit into the universe.

It got me excited, too, when I saw it and was disappointed when I found out it was fake. It's a shame, really, maybe my acting major in college would have finally paid off. Heh. :P
We do have some stuff that would work for a Star Wars movie, I could see downtown working pretty well for Coronet, Corellia or another similar location. But we do have the problem of not having a sound stage or anything to promote filming movies here. It would certainly be cheaper and easier to go to a city that had a sound stage and other facilities...
