Members of Cloud City Garrison and Kashyyyk Base will be participating in the 10th Annual Autism Walk-A-Thon at Oaks Park in SE Portland on Sunday, April 15, 2012, from 9-11 am.
ASO is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization made up of people with autism spectrum disorder and their parents, caregivers and other people who care about them. Our mission is to empower individuals with Autism, their families and their service providers to improve the quality of their lives through support and information. Each year, we hold a Autism Walk-A-Thon at Oaks Park in SE Portland. This year will be our 10th Annual Walk and will be held on Sunday, April 15, 2012, from 9-11 am. About 4,000 people attend this event. The Walk-A-Thon is the main fundraiser for our programs, as well as the largest Autism Awareness event in Oregon, and helps foster a sense of community among everyone affected by autism and provide information about community resources, as well as being a lot of fun! All of the funds raised stay in Oregon to be used for the benefit of people on the autism spectrum and their families.
