Greetings all,
It happened in 1977 at the drive-in with my parents, Star Wars changed me forever
I've been dabbling with TK armor forever it seems, building and assembling for 10+ years, then moved on to my Darth Maul, now messing with some Mando armor. Always lurked here and there, then the Star Wars Celebration got me fired up so I decided to join. Having little kids (and big kids) ask to take a pic with me was a pretty fulfilling experience, especially when Maul didnt scare them away
So here I am to get more involved with people, community, friends, the works.
My name is Chris, live in the Tigard area, and look forward to meeting and eventing with you.

Hi Chris,
Welcome to the forums!
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Welcome to the forums! Nice Maul pic, is that you?
-
Thanks all for the welcomes!
Yes, that is me. I think that was my 4th time as Maul, it was however the first time I had ever put in contact lenses...oh boy was that an experience. I was really bummed at the convention knowing there would be other Mauls that most likely would have the contacts, then I stumbled across the Exotic Lenses booth so I decided to go for it. My eyes hated me for awhile

Chris,
I live around Tigard too! I am so happy to know that there's an experienced builder in my vicinity... I am about to order the Anovos Stormtrooper kit w/completed helmet and can barely contain my excitement...
Quick question - as you have been building armor for over a decade, how would you feel about helping a youngling in their first armor construction endeavor? I would RATHER buy the RS Props kit and build everything myself, but I have literally zero experience with costuming/prop building and would really like some local help... if you're open to it. It would also be nice to meet someone in the community - I've been really looking forward to making some friends through the 501st!
Let me know; I hope to see you at the next event!
