Title: Hello looking the join the 501st as Mara Jade

Hi, I’m the Mom of TK-52689 from Reno, but  i Iive in Vancouver .  I’m starting to work on the Nebula Jade.  I have the saber and the contacts are on order.  looking for friendly advice to get things together.

Welcome! Apologies if you've already been there, but a great place to get started is to check out the costume reference library:

This should outline all of the requirements for getting approved for the costume you want! The Flagship Eclipse Detachment (http://www.theflagshipeclipse.com/) specializes in that costume and may have some resources if nobody locally is familiar with the one!

Thanks for the welcome, I have spent over an hour online just looking for boots!  The CRL is a bit confusing on the boots it says dark gray-brown so is either color ok?

I’ll do that.  I work well with encouragement did find the base layer so got that taken care of.

Looking for trooping boots for Mara!  Looked for over 2 hours online can’t find something I think works ok it’s the CRL

My boots came today and I ordered the dye kit so that should all be taken care of soon as the CRL model is giving me the info to get the same things as she did.

I haven’t worked with Sintra before but this is my attempt at a base for my shoulders using my embossing tool to heat it up to get the curve I need.  I will chat with my CRL model to see what she thinks before I move ahead,

Ok got more boot dye after some edge dressing they are good to go.  As to the shoulders had to do smaller and a softer curve unfortunately while doing the second shoulder the gun died so I had to dunk the Sintra in boiling water and hand form it using a jar candle and a placemat for padding.  Cut out 4 layers of quilt batting and the leather now just need to get a hot temp glue gun to put it together.
